Hello from your musical director!

Hello, everyone! I'm Cristina Chan, the musical director, and I am so excited for our upcoming production of Peter Pan Jr.! It is sure to be a truly magical show!
I have been musically directing shows with Hernandez Theater Workshop for about 6 years now and the shows and talent keep getting better. As musical director my job is to teach the music to the entire cast and help them with their singing. I also help run auditions and cast the shows.
In addition to working with Fredo and the gang, I also am the music teacher at Clark Mills Elementary School in Manalapan where I teach grades K-5 general music and 4th and 5th grade chorus. I also teach some private voice and piano lessons at home. As you can see I really love music ;)
Before I was a teacher I sang in many operas throughout New Jersey and in college. I graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts of Rutgers University with a double major in music education and voice performance. I love sharing my knowledge and experiences with my students and can't wait to see Peter Pan Jr.! It's going to Rock!

HELLO ALL

Hi everyone! Welcome to Disney's Peter Pan Jr. Pilot Production's Blog! My name is Charles Mantione and I play Peter Pan in the show and am also Student Director. I am very honored to be in this production as well as involved behind the scenes!

My job as student director is to help my cast mates out if they have any questions about any blocking, dances, songs, or just any questions in general. I also help out a little with scene work and help give ideas to my fellow cast mates to help them if they don't know how to say a line or aren't sure what their motivation in the scene is.

My favorite part of the show is the cast. We have such a wonderful and talented cast and I think it is safe to say that everyone is having a fun time putting this production on its feet and we are all eager to see what the final product will look like! (At least I know I am!)

I am so blessed and honored to say that this is my 9th production with Hernandez Theatre Workshop. The shows that go at HTW are absolutely incredible and I wouldn't love theatre as much as I do if it weren't for this company, especially Fredo.

I am very eager to work with the production staff and this wonderful cast to make an awesome show. I can't wait to see you all there! I will post back soon with more updates on rehearsals and how the show is coming along!

Thanks,
Charles

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to stop by and say a quick Hello! and welcome you all to our blog. I am very excited about our production of Peter Pan Jr. and so happy to be involved.

So I thought I'd start by explaining what my role is. I am the Production Manager and I basically make sure that everything runs smoothly. I'm involved in everything from schedule conflicts to set design to costumes. It keeps me busy but I wouldn't have it any other way. Peter Pan is all about make believe and playing I find myself acting like a kid again!

As Fredo has mentioned, please check back because we will be putting up some pictures and videos of our rehearsals and STUDIO sessions. I am having such a great time at these STUDIO sessions watching the kids do improv (they are so funny!) and really get into character. They are working extremely hard to give you a great show so I hope you all come out and see it!

I'll be back frequently to keep you updated on all the fun stuff going on at HTW!

Have a fabulous day!
Jamie

Welcome!

First off - let's start this blog right by thanking its creator, Mrs. Lisa Venezia (our Webmaster), for her wonderful idea and her help in setting it all up. Lisa came up with this while watching one of our blocking rehearsals. Many thanks Lisa for your creativity and unwavering support!

I would like to welcome all of you to the official HTW, Inc. blog for the pilot production of "Disney's Peter Pan JR." On behalf of the entire creative team and production staff, I would just like to say what an honor it is to be working on this project. A a debt of gratitude goes out to the creative development, licensing, and education departments at Disney Theatrical Productions for trusting us and giving us the opportunity to help develop a new musical, one which is sure to become an instant classic in the catalogue of Disney Musicals. We would also like to thank the City of South Amboy for their support, and an extra special thanks goes to Director of Recreation & Senior Services, Mary Lou DeBlis, for doing everything under the sun to ensure a successful production. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but I am amazed after each and every rehearsal by this cast's commitment to the project, as well as their enthusiasm to learn more about theatre and the arts. We have quite a production geared up and our new educational STUDIOTM program is a truly unique, one of a kind experience.

We will be using this blog to fully document the entire production experience, as well as highlight the performers, artists, and volunteers who are making all the magic happen. Expect to see rehearsal photos and videos, production designs, interviews, articles, and updates! More to come, so check back often and feel free to post!

Remember, this is an extension of our theatre community and we hope you will all embrace this new endeavor and make it soar! Have fun bloggers!

Best,
Wilfredo Hernandez
